The Land Rover Uganda Club will participate in the 2024 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, where we will be part of the Safety Team, have Land Rovers as the First Intervention Vehicles, and be part of the Safety Convoy.

The rally will be held from May 10 to 12, 2024, in Jinja district, Eastern Uganda. On Friday, May 10, 2024, a special circuit and shakedown will be at Bujagali Falls.

Just like we did in 2022, the Land Rover Uganda Club will provide vehicles used as safety cars and may also transport rally officials when the event gets underway, where necessary. The primary function of the safety cars during a rally event is to check the route to ensure compliance with the safety plan and provide this information to Rally Control. They are also the first responders to any intervention in addition to the medical team.

The Land Rover Uganda Club will proudly participate in the 25th edition of the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally 2024 as a volunteer partner to provide First Intervention Vehicles (FIVs), which are meant to improve the rally’s overall safety.

Over thirty entries, including current national championship leader Jonas Kansiime and other former National Champions Jas Mangat, Ronald Sebuguzi, and Ponsiano Lwakataka, have been registered, drawing more of the rally’s rich history and competitive spirit.

The only two foreign drivers, defending African rally champion Karan Patel (Kenya) and Junior African rally champion Hamza Anwar (Kenya), will add to the excitement displayed by all the crews.

As Champions of Road Safety, one of our roles in our day-to-day involvement as a Land Rover Uganda is to ensure road safety in the country. Our message is: Road Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

We will also have a Land Rover Club member, Hassan Wamwayi, a professional photographer and Digital content creator, on the team. He will also share his content with our Pearl of Africa Rally Partners. Hassan also runs Rugby Agency, producing many beautiful rugby union photos and videos.
